Introduction @ 04:16 pm
I never thought I would have one of these things, but I guess I decided to jump on the band wagon and follow the trend, so here I am. If you’ve heard of Hanson, then you know me. I’m the youngest in the band and the drummer, which we all know drummers rock. I don't just play the drums though. I also play guitar, piano, harmonica, and the egg shaker and tambourine for when we play acoustic sets.
Zachary Walker Hanson is my full name, but most people just call me Zac. It seems easier to remember. I was born on October 22, 1985 and the rest is history! Well, not really. Remember “Mmmbop” in 1997? I’m sure with just saying the name, you now all have that song stuck in your head. I don’t understand why so many people hated us for that. The magazines had fun with article titles though.
We sold twelve million albums worldwide, which made us very happy and proud of ourselves. Then we decided to record a follow up album. And since Mercury Records merged with Island Def Jam, we recorded This Time Around under IDJ. For our third album, IDJ wanted us to write more radio friendly songs. We actually wrote over eighty songs, but they rejected every single one. Therefore, we needed to part ways with them. We then founded 3CG Records (3 Car Garage Records), which allows us to go back to our roots, be indie and just do what we love to do without having A & R and record execs saying "Your music isn’t good enough". We released our album Underneath and it went to number one on the Billboard Independent Chart. The feeling of knowing we overcame the odds and doubt people had in us, was very full-filling.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why we are happy! But now on to other random information about my life and I’ll try to make it exciting, rather than boring. I used to live with my brothers in an apartment in New York, but then Taylor and Natalie got married and now have three children, which I’m a proud uncle of them. After Taylor and Nat moved out, Ike and I lived together for a while, but then just like birds eventually all leave the nest, I decided to move out too. After having my own apartment in New York while we were working on 3CG, eventually we all moved back to Tulsa. Now we all live in Oklahoma, which is always nice to be home.
Congratulations to anyone who read that boring paragraph.
As for personal information, I recently became divorced and have a nine month old daughter named Madeline, who I adore. She turns every day into a day filled with sunshine. She's truly a blessing and I can't see my life without her.
At the moment our band is in the process of promoting our new album entitled, "The Walk". And after all of this, if you’re not bored, I’m open to meeting new people, therefore, feel free to contact prozac drums.
